Cheap and Easy Crafts: Feather Ornament DIY

It's a new feature on le blogge: Cheap and Easy (crafts).  These may not all really even be verifiable crafts per se, think of them more like cute ideas that are super easy to execute.  Yes, that's it.

You may recall the giant bag of feathers I got from Consumer Crafts.  This was my evil plan and I'm quite happy with how it turned out.  I have made these clear ornaments with a wide variety of innards for the past so many years.  They're endlessly fun.  Almost anything looks good in these, just add a bow and a little tag and voila!  Instant gifty!

Here's what you need:
Feathers
Glass ornaments
Cardstock
Hampton Art 'be happy' stamp OR pen to write
Ranger Archival ink
Hangers
Scissors
Hole punch

Here's what you do:
Stamp or write 'be happy' on cardstock
Cut cardstock into tag and punch hole in top left corner
Remove ornament cap
Shove gently place feathers into glass ornament, the more the merrier...ho, ho, ho
Replace ornament cap
Attach tag to ornament cap with pretty ribbon
Add hanger
Hang on tree (or place in a jaunty snowflake gift bag for a friend or relative)

Here's what happens:
Sip some egg nog and marvel at how cheap and easy that was.  Craft, rinse, repeat.  Squee.

  12. That would be awesome wouldn't it? I put them on a mini-tree with some Jelly Belly candy canes and tinsel, but a whole big tree with these colors would be even better!

    Cheers,
    Madge
